Michelle Mei is a Singapore-based photographer whose images are a study in emotional texture—where presence is felt more than posed, and feeling unfolds without instruction. Her work spans music culture, editorial portraiture, and observational storytelling, rooted in an instinct to observe rather than intrude. Known for capturing artists and subjects in their most unguarded states, she is drawn to what can’t be rehearsed: presence, intimacy, disappearance.
Her collaborations with artists such as Linying, Wormrot, Sorn, and Nadine Lustre have led to features in Vogue, NPR, Vice, NME, Dazed 100, Paper Magazine, and Nylon Mag, with her music video work reaching over half a million viewers. Across commissioned work, editorial stories, and personal projects, her images form a cohesive body marked by clarity, depth, and a quietly assertive visual language.
